Mission: Is to promote and enrich the cultural identity and heritage inherited by Indo-Caribbean people, that was initially brought and developed by the first generation Indian immigrants.
Vision: Is to see the generation of today embrace, enrich and be empowered in their West Indian identity, especially the cultural contribution developed by the first generation indentured immigrants.
Purpose: To highlight the unique culture of Indo-Caribbean people.
Aims & Objectives:
- To source, document, and archive Caribbean Hindustani speech and literature.
- To standardize and promote Caribbean Hindustani language.
- To document and record Tamil culture and language that is preserved in the Indo-Caribbean identity, with the intention to revive and enrich
what is available in the past and present, ie: Tamil vocabulary, cuisine, and practices
- To document and record and act as filip for the local classical, tan singing, baithak gaana form of the Indo-Caribbean performing arts.
- To provide a platform for the performing art of dance within in the Indo-Caribbean space.
- To highlight Indo-Caribbean culinary arts.
- Archiving and documentation that focuses on the pre-colonial Indian roots of the indigenous Caribbean martial arts form ie. Gatka. Goshti,
and other forms of Indian martial arts.
- To explore philosophies that relate to the Indo-Caribbean experience.
- To record, archive, and document the achievements of Indo-Caribbean individuals in the spheres of politics, sports, healthcare, media, history,
social work science, and various other aspects of national life in their respective diaspora countries.
